November and December at pine street art works

Artifact

Opening Reception Friday Nov. 3rd, 5-8

Pine street art works, fine art & artifacts, always shows artifacts, but for November and December we are turning the usual order on its head and featuring them. Here's how we define artifact:

1. An object made by human beings with a view to subsequent use
2) A handmade or mass produced object characteristic of an earlier time

With that in mind, we've assembled a large cast of artisans and craftspeople to make things for your delight: Paige Russell, Stew Design Workshop, Kirk Willams, John Anderson, John B. Marius, Kat Clear, Christy Mitchell, Jude Mulle, Madelyn Erb, Gary Hall, Isabelle Norman, Flashbags

What a crew. And most of these artists are from Burlington or the very close environs. We've got an amazing pool of talent here.

In addition to these fine contemporary artists, we have our vintage goods to fulfill the second meaning of artifact. We have vintage toys, tableware, industrial artifacts and vintage prints, including a gorgeous, large scale 1921 chromolithograph by children's illustrator Mary Louise Spoor.

And, there's more. The back room, the one we like to call the morning room, or the east room, or the salon, is now open as the dedicated inventory gallery. We finally have room to display works by artists who have had solo shows here. So you can still see Cara Barer, Alison Bechdel, David Putnam, S.P Goodman, and we're working on getting some Charlie Hunters. We also have some preview works from upcoming exhitiors Dennis Versweyveld, Kathy Stark, and Marie LaPre Grabon.

One last thing...we will be sharing a booth with The Lamp Shop (gorgeous vintage lighting and full service lamp repair- next door to psaw on pine street) at The Vermont HomeStyle Magazine Interiors and Trends Show 2006 at the Sheraton Hotel in Burlington on November 11 & 12th, so please come by and see us.

Cheers,
