Murder Mystery by Cara Barer

Cara Barer is a photographer from Texas. Her new body of work, Of Words, Paper and Shapes: The Book Series, makes it Northeast debut at pine street art works. Barer has shown extensively in the Southwest, most recently at fotofest 2006 in Houston.

Of this series of images, which are at once abstract and poetic, Barer says, “I am attempting to blur the line between objects, sculpture and photography. This project has become a journey that continues to evolve. Moreover, it has unfolded in ways that have surprised and galvanized me to carry on, and search for more ways to make us consider the future of books.”

020 by David Putnam

David Putnam is a photographer and framer based in Claremont, NH. He answers his driving question, “What more is there besides the obvious” in this series of close up images of abandoned trains. He choses his tight framing to give the viewer, “an opportunity ot experience another perspective, to force closer examination.” Putnam's darkroom technique, and now is use of digital media, complete his vision.

Putnam has shown in galleries in New England and Santa Fe. His work has been published in National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, Antiques Magazine, as well as in several books.
